I do not have much to share about 1st grade, but I can empathize with the news of a move. After my 1st year of teaching Kindergarten in a Charter School, I was told that I was moving to 1st grade also. Fortunately, we opened a sister school and they ended up moving me to a Lead Kindergarten position there, but I had the freak-out feeling also. I am sure you will do great! If you need any help with behaviors, let me know!

Jessica,
I've started planning for The Guiding Readers Book Study and you mentioned you would like to be involved. Here is the link to the schedule if you are still interested.

Thinking of Teaching
I was about to email you when I saw this post. I think it's a marvelous idea, and I added my link! Come over and link up with my Classroom Themes Party! So many great bloggers with amazing ideas!
My tip for you is the amazing management game I found on another blogger's site. I am going to do this with my clip chart system and provide the visual part on my smartboard. Check this out!
